The Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Students and Forbes College are excited to announce the appointment of Michelle Smith as assistant dean for student life at Forbes College, succeeding Justin Smith, who accepted the position of associate vice president and dean of students at Goucher College.

Dean Smith has worked in residential life at the State University of New York at Maritime College since 2014, serving first as an area coordinator and most recently as assistant director of housing and residential life. She has overseen the resident assistant program at Maritime, developed and led training workshops, participated in the on-call emergency response rotation and supervised residence hall directors. In addition, she has been a member of the Maritime Intervention Team, actively participating in crisis management and supporting students of concern in a variety of circumstances. Her experience aligns exceptionally well with the responsibilities of the assistant dean for student life position at Princeton.

Dean Smith received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Oswego and her Master of Science in Education from Hofstra University.
