Olivia Weiner, currently the director of student development and activities at Marymount Manhattan College, has accepted an offer to become the next director of student life at Forbes College. Olivia succeeds Mell Thompson who has recently been appointed associate dean of undergraduate students.
Olivia brings to this position a rich background in student life administration and extensive experience supporting students in the areas of residential life, global living-and-learning communities, student leadership development, and crisis and emergency support. At Marymount, she works with student initiated programs and provides leadership and mentoring to a host of student groups and peer leaders. She is a member of the Students of Concern Committee, providing support and guidance to students in her charge and serving as a liaison between support services, academic departments and families. Prior to her work at Marymount, Olivia was the assistant director of international programs and women’s leadership at the International House, New York. Prior to that, she worked at Colorado State University in residential life, overseeing a living-learning community of 500 students. Additionally, Olivia has substantial experience in global education, working to bring international students to the United States to study.
Olivia received her B.A. from George Washington University and her M.S. from Colorado State University. Please join the Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Students and the Forbes College staff in welcoming Olivia when she takes up her new duties on January 22.
