In celebration of the start of the academic year, all undergraduates are invited to attend an evening of comedy this Sunday, Sept 5th at 10:00pm in Richardson Auditorium. Mikey Day of Saturday Night Live will perform and take questions from the audience. Seating will be on a first come, first serve basis; doors open at 9:30pm. There is no admission charge for this event, but note that it is open to students only and guests are not permitted. All students must have a face covering and a prox to enter Richardson.
A California native and graduate of UCLA with a degree in Theater, Mikey Day recently completed his second season as a featured player on Saturday Night Live. During his first season as a cast member, Day gained recognition for his wildly popular “Haunted Elevator (ft. David S. Pumpkins)” sketch with Tom Hanks as well as his Donald Trump Jr. impression.
Day has an established background in comedic writing and improv, dating back to his student days at El Modena High School in Orange, California. He launched his professional career as a member of The Groundlings comedy troupe in Los Angeles and was a cast member on Nick Cannon’s MTV comedy series “Wild ‘N Out” for seven seasons. Most recently, he was a co-head writer and cast member on NBC's "Maya & Marty" and co-writer for the 2016 comedy “Brother Nature.”
Day and his writing partner Streeter Seidell have three projects in development for Disney. Home Sweet Home Alone is the sixth film in the Home Alone franchise and scheduled for a release later this fall. They are also working on a live-action Inspector Gadget film.
