Residing in Whitman Residential College, Residential Life Coordinator Chikayla Barriner assists in cultivating a welcoming and cohesive residential community. RLC Chikayla supports and promotes the health, safety and well-being of students in Whitman College. By residing in the college and being readily available to respond to crises and urgent situations, Chikayla helps to create and maintain a safe and supportive residential environment for all students. In addition, RLC Chikayla develops and implements programs and activities that foster a sense of community, well-being, and belonging among college residents and assists in developing the skills required to navigate the opportunities and challenges of living and learning within the University community successfully.

RLC Chikayla graduated from West Chester University with a B.A. in Political Science and received her M.A. in Higher Education Policy and Student Affairs.    

Outside of work, Chikayla enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, including her puppy Pepsi, watching football, and doing arts crafts. She also enjoys working out at the gym or outside when the weather is warm.
