Bio/Description

Jelani Johnson oversees 400 student organizations registered with ODUS, articulates University policies and protocols as they relate to undergraduate activities, and develops training for student organization leaders, informed by campus trends. He is an adviser to the Undergraduate Student Government (USG), the USG Projects Board, and is the chair of the Student Group Accountability Board.

Dean Johnson attended Cornell University, receiving a B.A in Africana Studies & Government, and an M.A. in Secondary Education from Brooklyn College. He previously worked in residence life at Penn State and the University of Michigan. Prior to Princeton, he worked in Student Activities at Amherst College, supporting diversity & inclusion initiatives, interdepartmental collaboration and advising student government and registered organizations. Dean Johnson is passionate about creating inclusive and engaging spaces for all students with an emphasis on advocacy, agency and collaboration.
