
Rick is responsible for the overall planning and development of the Outdoor Action (OA) Program which includes the OA Orientation Trip and Leader Training Program, OA+, Climbing Wall, and Equipment Rental facility. He works with undergraduate and graduate students in developing their own leadership, team building and facilitation skills to help others grow through the outdoors and expand the co-curricular experience at Princeton.
An alum from the Class of 1979, Rick graduated with an A.B. in psychology and studied the impact of the Outdoor Action program as part of his undergraduate research. His experience as an outdoors person over the past fifty years includes hiking, trail running, backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, biking, and cross-country skiing. He has led outdoor trips for Princeton Outdoor Action across the country and around the world including Nepal, Patagonia, and the Alps.
Rick enjoys spending time outdoors all year long, whether it is hiking on local trails, biking, or cross-country skiing. In his spare time, he is an avid computer programmer and shares his outdoor program experience with others. Rick developed his love for the outdoors while an undergraduate OA Leader at Princeton.
