Dean's Emergency Fund

Dean's Emergency Fund - ODUS provides support to enrolled high financial need currently enrolled undergraduate students in the event of medical or travel emergencies. Specifically, this fund can help defray expenses related to necessary and critical medical care not covered by insurance, travel home for a family emergency, or other emergency travel. This fund is not intended to be used for the purchase of personal items, such as clothes, computers, etc. The Office of Financial Aid creates financial aid packages appropriate to individual student needs that include allocations for travel home during breaks, expenses for personal items, and other non-emergency expenses. Contact your Residential College assistant dean for student life to learn how to apply.

Our typical funding does not exceed $500 per request, but we will consider funding requests that exceed this amount if necessary. Students may be referred to alternate or additional funding resources when appropriate.

While we will do our best to consider requests as quickly as possible, please be advised that the review process may take several days for less urgent matters. Funding may be available via direct payment or reimbursement. Reimbursements will be process through Princeton’s Financial Service Center via direct deposit (typically within 4-5 business days) or by check (typically within 5-10 business days), depending on what is noted on your finance account. Emergency funding may be subject to tax withholding for international students.

If you have general questions, please contact Dean Thompson.
